Making the Most of USA Swimming Data at Coaches Fingertips 

Eric Stimson and Ty Gibbs from USA Swimming discussed recent updates to the data hub, including a new feature for interactive time searches and the addition of PDF downloads for meet results. They highlighted improvements in the individual event rank search to prevent crashes during high usage times. The club times progression dashboard allows coaches to compare their club's improvement rates to the national average. The club retention dashboard shows retention rates by age group and competition category. A new data report revealed that single-day sanctioned meets correlate with higher retention rates for 10 and under swimmers, while performance metrics showed a decline in improvement rates since 2016. Future projects include enhancing PowerPoints, creating data-driven recognition programs, and implementing altitude adjustments.
