A Platform for Power and Strength - Building a Platform for 12+U - Charlie Hoolihan

Mo Abdelaal introduced Charlie Hoolihan, ASCA's strength and conditioning specialist, to discuss dryland training for 12 and unders. Hoolihan emphasized the complexity of the human body and the importance of humility in coaching. He highlighted the benefits of dryland training, including increased strength, stability, and motor control. Hoolihan noted that swimmers are often uncoordinated on dry land due to their time in water. He stressed the importance of muscle balance, tendon strength, and joint stability. Hoolihan also demonstrated exercises to improve core engagement, scapular movement, and overall stability, aiming to enhance swimming performance and reduce injury risk.
