Stefano Morini – The Training of Federica Pellegrini 

Stefano, the new coach of Federica Pellegrini, discussed her training regimen and performance metrics. In the 2008-2009 season, Pellegrini swam 4,600 km in 46 weeks, averaging 10 km/day. In the current season, she swam 5,000 km in 50 weeks, with 6% of workouts at race pace. Training sessions include aerobic (easy and intense), and anaerobic (sprint) phases. Pellegrini's lactate levels typically range from 6.3 to 10.8 mmol/L. She recently competed in the European Championships, winning gold in the 200m freestyle and bronze in the 800m freestyle. The team also conducted altitude training in Sierra Nevada, increasing her aerobic capacity.
